Tajikistan’s national judo team began a 12-day training camp in Aomori, Japan, on Monday, August 12.

A six-man squad, which includes 2018 Asian Games bronze medallist Komronshoh Ustopiriyon, will undergo intensive training under Japanese experts.
This programme is a result of the Memorandum of Understanding signed last year between the City of Aomori and the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan whereby Tajikistan athletes will be trained in Japan prior to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics
Nazarzoda Rizo, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Youth and Sports of the Tajikistan Government, Erkin Latipov, Director General of the Tajikistan Olympic Committee, and Nurullo Loiqov, Chairman of the Judo Federation of Tajikistan, met the athletes before they departed for Japan.
After the training camp ends on August 23 the squad will travel to Tokyo to participate in the World Judo Championship from August 25-31, which will also be a qualifying event for the Tokyo Olympics.
