Tajikistan celebrates Olympic Day with National Cycling Marathon

The National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan started celebrating Olympic day with the nation-wide morning exercise at the urban park "Navruzgoh" on Sunday. More than 5000 inhabitants of Dushanbe joined NOC staff, athletes, administrators of the multi-sports groups, and other sports-oriented organizations.

After this sports activity, Senior Deputy Minister of the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan - Mr. Nazarzoda Rizo and London Olympic bronze medalist Mrs. Mavzuna Chorieva congratulated all participants on the occasion of the Olympic Day in which this top sporting event commemorates within the country every year. As they noted, the Olympic Movement in the country is under direct auspicious of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, President of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan H.E. Emomali Rahmon.
It should be noted that more than 1,000 schoolchildren reportedly took part in the annual Olympic Day Run, held over a distance of four kilometers in the heart of the cities and districts of the country.
On the sideline of the Olympic Day there has been conducted various sports activities throughout the country including Scientific-Academic Conference "Role of the Leader of the Nation to the development of the Olympic Movement in Tajikistan" which held at Tajikistan Physical Education Institution named after S. Rahimov.
In the northern part of the country Khujand city dedicated to the Olympic Day and the 125th anniversary of the establishing the International Olympic Committee has been organized with a series of cycle races for men, women and youth participants last Sunday where hundreds of cycle-players from all over the country took an active part in it.
After the conclusion of the competitions, winners and active participants were awarded the certificates of the International Olympic Committee by the Minister of the Committee for Youth Affairs and Sports, Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan Mr. Abdullozoda Ahtam Rustam.
Please, note that more than 100,000 people all over the country on Olympic Day began with the morning exercises at the sports venues.
